Introduction to Surgery – intensive cadaver course

Surgical course dedicated to medical students. The agenda and number of training stations is subject to change based on the number of effectively registered participants. (course will be held in English)

 

Registration

Welcoming

Clinical importance of bacteria. Antiseptics and aseptics (including UV lamp demonstration). Surgical hand wash. SCRUB-IN: putting on sterile gloves, donning a gown (demonstration and exercise).

Coffee break.

Basic surgical instruments and terminology. ORIF and osteotomy

Lunch

Cadaver Lab: (Groups of 5-6 students per training station. Groups rotate every 30 min) Station 1 = Instrumental Suturing Station 2 = Vascular Surgery (dissection, vascular suturing, thrombectomy) Station 3 = USG-guided needle procedures (nerve blocks, muscle blocks with Botox) Station 4 = The Knee Joint (aspiration, HA injection, other) Station 5 = Joint replacement procedure

Coffee break.

Cadaver Lab: Station 1 = Miscellaneous (tendon suturing, electric knife, other) Station 2 = Amputation Station 3 = USG procedures Station 4 = Knee Arthroscopy Station 5 = Open Reduction Internal Fixation (plates, screws, saws, K-wires, osteotomies)

Closing ceremony and certificates of attendance
